What's New for 2023?
Last year, the XC60 introduced new B5/B6 mild-hybrid powertrains and an upgraded Google Built-in infotainment system. For 2023, the XC60 offers new colors and wheel designs, as well as updated trim level names to better indicate their position in the lineup.
Performance
Three battery-assisted powertrains are available to power the 2023 Volvo XC60. The base B5 is a turbocharged turbo-four mild-hybrid that leverages a small electric motor and battery to capture and store braking energy, redeploying to reduce the engine's workload in situations like ignition and stop starting. The twincharged B6 uses a similar setup but with a supercharger added to the mix, increasing output to 295 hp and 310 lb-ft. For improved handling in inclement conditions, the XC60 offers AWD as an option for B5 models and standard with the B6 powertrain.
The XC60 Recharge plug-in hybrid equips the twincharged powertrain with a larger electric motor to produce an all-wheel-driving 455 horsepower and 523 pound-feet of torque.
